I just had to blog this amazing pre-wedding shoot in Monaco or Honeymoon photography session in Monaco, photographs in 2 parts, as there is just too much loveliness for just one post! Part 1 can be found here
For part 2 we take you to the gorgeous Monte Carlo Gardens, yes the Casino has it’s very own gardens and they are gorgeous.
I know I said this in the last post but I am in love with the style of the new bride’s dress and jewelry. What an amazing choice for the location. You know couples sometimes do not think of planning what to wear for their Engagement session, but it really can make the difference between a good and an amazing final set of photographs! You can even change and have more than 1 look within your engagement or pre-wedding session. Even brides are doing this for their wedding day!
Just while in the gardens the sun peeked a little hello through the mist and gave the most perfect touch of light to the images. Photographers call this a “hair light” but hey, this is all natural and that itself makes it even more magical.
We finished off on the terrace with the sea as our backdrop. We had hoped for sun but fog is a bit more common in this area of the French Riviera given the mountains, which is fine by me, sun can make photography more difficult if it is too high and give harsh shadows (why the time just before and after sunset is the ideal time for a portrait session!) but we where blessed with the most magical soft light.
I know some photographers have a team with them when they shoot, lighting etc. Although an assistant would be useful many times I work with 100% natural light whenever possible and like it to be just me and the couple. I am confident in planning and direction so this eliminates the need for a planner to attend these sessions. Hair and make up can be done before and touch up’s are easy enough between me and the bride. (I am trained as a make up artist and even further as a professional retoucher I find many of these small touch ups are not needed, as I am hand re-touching each and every image) Also means less people who need to travel from location to location which is a plus when working in public spaces.
Oh and it’s just not the sea, the Monte Carlo Casino is rather gorgeous too!
The gardens happened to be magical on this afternoon, we had the gorgeous location all to ourselves. Monaco is an amazing location for a pre-wedding, engagement, honeymoon, or wedding ceremony itself! Fine Art Photography is just the best way to preserve the memory and capture your amazing experience.
