For those of you who have been to France but not to the South of France, you really are missing out! It is a totally different experience to Paris and the north of France. Paris is beautiful it's own right and I love to photograph weddings in Paris but the South of France including Provence and the Cote d’azur just a magical place of it's own.
Mountains, valleys, vineyards, the nature is second to none. With around 300 sunny days per year it is a fantastic choice to have your special day in the South of France. There is a lower chance of there being rain vs the north of the country.
There is no lack of venues of every sort. My favourites have been the lovely Chateaus with extensive gardens and vineyards. Locations like these make the South of France an IDEAL wedding location!
Some forget that the PACA region reaches down to the coast and includes St Tropez, Cannes, Nice and more. Imagine a lovely beach wedding in Nice with a first hand sea view for your wedding day.
Palm trees, olive trees, pine trees, lavender fields. The South of France is not lack of locations for amazing portraits. I have to admit the only place that comes similar in nature and light to here in California. It is unlike to most places in Europe.
The sunset is usually quite beautiful with shades of pink and orange to the sky. Artists for years have come to the region to create their air due to the beautiful scenery and amazing light. One visit and you will know why.
Ideal for making unique images for families to treasure. The venues here are beautiful but also I remind brides who are making the choice to have a destination wedding here to remember that transport links are very important for guests flying in from abroad. A town that is very well connected with TGV and near an airport is better than a town further afield if everyone is flying in.
St Tropez is another beautiful town I love to photograph in. Of course one huge advantage to a wedding in St Tropez is the sea and beach! A wedding photographer in Saint-Tropez will be able to use the sea as a lovely background for your portraits. A little more difficult to get to has helped keep the area more quiet and exclusive.
Cannes and Nice are also popular options. The sea and mountains meet for a dramatic background and are well served by TGV and an international airport. Also there is no lack of amazing venues. Eze has a beautiful chateau on a sea cliff that is just breathtaking, and along the coast towards Monaco there are amazing venues. People often forget just how big and varied Provence and the South of France is! Being a wedding photographer in the South of France really is covering a big area with vineyards, the seaside and everything in-between. All lovely and unique places to hold your destination wedding. Being local I am happy to help in any way with plans for your big day and really understand how stressful it is to get married somewhere new and unfamiliar. But I can tell you it's really worth it and your day will be magical.
